3rd November. That is when the Kenzo collaboration lands in selected H&M stores. Let the madness commence!

My first thoughts: wow colour and bold pattern. My second thought: is this commercial enough for high street? My third thought: actually commerciality doesn't matter it will still be popular and sell out. It is a limited edition collection, not widely available at all H&M stores. The collection is made up of 103 items including shoes, accessories and jewellery in addition to the standard wardrobe staples. Described by Kenzo's creative directors Carol Lim and Humberto Leon as a modern take on the 1970's and early 1980's. There is a Jungle vibe with many animal prints and a the tiger motifs featuring on many pieces.

The styling in the press release is fun and vibrant with lots of layering and clashing. Prices start at an affordable £24.99 and go up to £299.99. So as always I went through all 103 pieces of the collection and found that I liked it, Lim and Leon have created a considered, genuine and appropriate collection. As always it gives people who cannot afford Kenzo prices a chance to buy a piece of Kenzo at a high street price.

Here is an edit below of my 6 favourite pieces from the collection. Without a doubt , a more subtle selection than some of the key pieces styled in the press release, but nevertheless individual, wearable and joyful at the same time. I love the jewel print, I design a jewellery print in my second year at University in 2010 which is quite similar. I also love navy which is a go to colour for me. I am impressed by the details of the collection; printed lining of the dress, perhaps it is reversible? Also I love the bright orange sole to the Chelsea boot. I hope this collection is made with good quality materials.

From the top left:

1) Navy blouse with ruffle under collar £49.99

2) Printed dress £79.99

3) PJ style shirt £49.99

4) Knitted Jumper £59.99

5) Printed Jeans £79.99

6) Chelsea boots £119.99

Previously H&M have collaborated with Isabel Marant, Alexander Wang, Matthew Williamson, Marni and Karl Lagerfeld... I can't wait to find out who is next!
