My Favourite Pattern of the Summer

I may have mentioned before that I am a massive pattern obsessive. Recently this Matthew Williamson print has been applied on to many different items now; furniture, gym clothing, stationery to name but a few - has caught my eye. I think it is fantastic.

I find this Butterfly Wheel pattern so mesmerising, the 'almost' ombre colour change, the texture of each, the tessellation of the repeat pattern with each wheel of wings layered... I could go on. Williamson has also recoloured this pattern into shades of pink, however I prefer the original colour ways above, nevertheless the pink is still quite lovely.

I love the Duresta Sofa that I saw in Elle Decoration. The contrast emerald green piping and the simple shape is divine, you would have to think carefully about the decor for the rest of the room though. Personally I would keep it plain using accent colours out of the pattern... with lots of plants and greenery, I wouldn't have white walls though the contrast would be too dramatic, I would opt for a warm shade of grey...

Finally the jacket, this would be a welcomed addition to my wardrobe. The symmetry is perfect. What immediately strikes me is that Williamson doesn't appear to have changed or played around with the scale of the design much, which many other designers do when they use the same pattern for multiple product applications.

Finally, I really hope that this doesn't get imitated badly on the high street, like fantastic prints often do...
